The Orient on Main: A Culinary Journey Through Asian Flavors

The Orient is always a go to for me and my husband. They have a sister restaurant called Sushi Murasaki that's next door and you can order from the sushi menu from Sushi Murasaki when you dine at The Orient. We went here last weekend for an early dinner. I ordered the honey chicken with white rice and he ordered the General Tso chicken with fried rice. We also ordered the Clemson roll to share. A spring roll was included with our meal and it came out first. It was hot and fresh and delicious. The Clemson roll came out next and it was good but felt like it could've been better. The shrimp within the roll wasn't crispy enough. My meal was amazing. It was hot and fresh and so good. My husband liked his meal as well but next time he will ask for it to be extra spicy. Overall the meal and customer service were great!

I went for a healthy meal and got the Wok balance Chicken and shrimp in teriyaki. Had to order extra teriyaki to have the flavor for more of my liking since it isn’t really seasoned. My fiancé got the wok fried shrimp meal in sesame sauce and he loved it (I should’ve got that instead of trying to be healthy lol). My daughter got the kids sweet and sour chicken which is her favorite. The spring roll (not pictured) was delicious and served with a chili sauce instead of duck sauce. Great service as well! We really enjoyed going during lunch hours since it wasn’t packed with great prices and portions.

The Orient is easily one of the best restaurants in downtown Greenville. The menu has a lot of great selections, the food is delicious, and the service is always great (be sure to ask for Tommy!). The sesame, garlic, and Mongolian options for the wok lunch are excellent, and their bento box is delicious. Portions are very generous as well. The owners are great people who strive to provide an excellent experience to their patrons, and it shows in every visit.

A great experience. I visited this place three years ago when I was in the area. I ordered hibachi salmon. Everything was good but rice was bit stiff and cold.

I and many of my friends and the coworkers have been coming here for years. Their lunch menu has great options for price, flavor, and quantity. I would recommend dropping by here. Tommy is our server most of the time, and he does a great job! He’s definitely one of the reasons we enjoy coming here.

Big portions on the hibachi meals. Ramen was VERY flavorful. Not the best hibachi flavors I've ever had but pretty good. We sat outside, we enjoyed it.

I've eaten here a few times in the last couple of months and was fully satisfied and impressed on both occasions! Each time was with a group (first time a group of 12, the second time a group of 6) and we were pleased with our visit. We were promptly seated on both occasions. The food was GREAT! Sushi was excellent, and the selection is very good as well, whether you are a sushi lover or just in the mood to be a little adventurous. Cocktails were very good and fairly priced. Appetizers were all very good (Wings, Edamame, Spring Rolls). Everyone enjoyed their food very much and the portions were large. Our servers on each visit were pretty awesome. Very polite and helpful, they really added to the value of the experience because the staff were so friendly. Both times I got the Shrimp & Lobster fried rice, and was completely happy with my meal. The only setback may be the other side of a positive aspect; it is somewhat small (maybe "narrow") inside, which adds to the intimacy and quaintness but may not be the perfect setting depending on how large your party is and how you prefer to be seated in that party. I think the place is great and its a definite "go-to" if you are downtown and looking for something off the beaten path so to speak.

I wasn’t sure what to expect due to mixed review but was pleasantly surprised! I’m vegetarian and appreciated the options available. I ordered the eggplant curry, the vegetables were well cooked and the dish flavorful. My mother also enjoyed her dish!
